Senior Corporate Accountant
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for performing accounting, administrative
and bookkeeping duties. You will also be responsible in executing necessary bookkeeping tasks, such as data entry, reconciling of accounts, filing of government related requirements, accounts payable and receivable as well as preparing accounting reports and facts in accordance with enacted processes and guidelines.
Who you are
To be successful in this role, you should possess an excellent understanding of computer
programs, such as Google Sheet and/or Microsoft Excel, as well as knowledge of general
accounting theories and guidelines. You should have the ability to perform basic and higher
mathematical calculations and you have a strong ability in communicating with diverse groups of
people both verbally and in writing.
What you will bring
Under limited supervision, prepare and review annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS, as required.
Lead assigned engagements including planning, budgeting, client relationship management and delegating to staff. Monitor and report out-of-scope time.
Writing and/or reviewing various reports related to engagements. Prepare ad hoc reports for the client upon request
Oversees the preparation of various financial reports, providing data analysis and justification for management decisions
Manages projects, including planning, organizing, and directing activities towards project goal completion, including management reporting
Prepares the presentation materials for required inputs to Board, Excom, Weekly Meetings and Segment Mancom meetings
Ensures monthly closing activities such as executing journals (if necessary) are done timely
Performs Balance Sheet reconciliation for accounts assigned to, and resolve issues as noted. Identify errors or problems and independently investigate; recommend solutions to team members or managers.
Liaises with internal/external auditors for any requirements
Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan
Prepares the Weekly and Monthly Operations Review Report & analyzes actual performance of key business drivers vis-à-vis the plans and forecast
Periodic monitoring and analysis of key business drivers
Assists in the quarterly outlook, annual budget and annual business plan exercises
Requirements
What you have
At least 4 years of proven experience in Finance, Accounting and Government compliance
Experience in using ERP (Netsuite, SAP, Oracle, etc)
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheet, Excel
Professional License as CPA preferred
Amenable to Tuesday to Saturday work schedule
